PLANNER SEARCH IN PROGRESS
The Planning Commission is leading an extensive search to recommend and hire a professional planner to help with updating the existing zoning code and ordinances as well as update the Comprehensive Plan. The State Law requires that the Comprehensive Plan be updated every 5 years. The Commission has received 13 proposals after posting this requirement for public bid. The Planning Commission will narrow these choices to four and a steering committee will make the final selection in a proposal to Council, Municipal Services and to the Trustees. The steering committee will work together with the planner each month to ensure that objectives are met and that there is accountability of results for this investment. This plan review was defined as one of the top 5 strategic objectives of your City Council during the workshop sessions last April. Results from this investment are expected within a year. For more information about this project, please call your Planning Commission Chair, Stan Sykora at 218-1192 or email stsykora@aol.com or email your Council President, Chris Castagno at CastagnoCJ@aol.com
