ANIMAL OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANUP
Responding to several complaints to the Board of Health, Health Code Official, Herb Swanson, has organized a mailing of the Ordinance that stipulates that animal owners are responsible to clean up any waste from their animals on City or private property. The mailing will be sent with the next Municipal Services Commission invoices as a reminder. This Ordinance carries a fine of $25.00 for the first conviction, and $50.00 for the second conviction. Residents are encouraged to submit a written complaint to the Police Department on Washington Street if they see anyone in violation of this Ordinance on City property. Complaints about stench in private yards should be made in writing to the City Offices at 220 Delaware Street for investigation by the Health Code Official. For more information about this issue, please call your Health Code Official, Herb Swanson at 322-9808 or your Council President, Chris Castagno at 322-9801 or email CastagnoCJ@aol.com.
