As Mayor of the City, I welcome you to historic New Castle, Delaware.

As the first capitol of the first state, founded in 1651 by the Dutch, New Castle with its unique cobblestone streets is recognized as a crown jewel. It is honored to have in its legacy three signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Added attractions include our walkway and park along the river and historic still lived-in homes and museums, many of which are open to the public.

New Castle is very proud of its heritage and it is noted that much of New Castle survives today as the colonial and federal generations knew it.
