Minutes of the November 17, 2005 meeting of the Historical Area Commission
(HAC) held in the New Castle Town Hall at 2nd & Delaware Streets,
New Castle, Delaware.

The Acting Chair, Mrs. Sally Monigle called the regular meeting of
the Historic Area Commission for the City of New Castle to order at
4:50p.m. and the roll was called.
OLD APPLICATIONS:
K. Dunn 13 The Strand
Improvements: Window approval for enclosed back room.
Involved Parties: Mr. John Lloyd
Discussion: Questions raised in reference to Craftsman style &
size of windows proposed.
Action: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we table this vote for new submission
with drawings for specific space.
Disposition: Tabled
G. Greenly 126 E. 4th Street
Improvements: Replace 12 windows
Involved Parties: Mr. Greenly
Discussion: On 11/10/05 returned with new windows specs that were
distributed between members of HAC and approved. The members of HAC
will re-visit the property to actually look at the windows.
Action: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we vote on the application as submitted

K. Tidball 44 W. 4th Street
Improvements: Final approval of shutters
Involved parties:
Discussion: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we vote on the application as submitted
with proviso that the litany is followed and that shutters be hung
correctly and be operable and have proper hardware. On the Hamliton
brand shutters, the lower panel will be smaller and the lower rails
will be wider and the top rail will be the same width as the side
rails. And the same basic instruction goes for the rails on the upper
shutters. The shutters, when they are shut, should shed water.

for wood windows.

Improvements: Replace 4 windows on back of house with double hung
windows.

Discussion: Mr. Thatcher stated that casement windows are all rotted
and they will be replaced with wood Kraco 6 over 6 windows or 4 over
4 windows as long as the glass is the same size.

proviso that a sample of the windows is sent to us.
