Summer Recreation Program

 

Trips are optional for your child to attend and there will be an additional fee for each trip, which must be paid in cash. The cost of the bus is included in each trip cost and you should be aware there might be some age restrictions. Please do not send your child to the park if they are not attending the scheduled trip, as the parks will not be supervised when everyone leaves for the trip. Battery Park will remain open on swimming days, and children from other parks who are not going swimming may come to Battery Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Each trip permission slip will have a deadline date to be returned. Please pay close attention to these deadline dates, as we will not allow any child who has not paid his/her fee or is without a permission slip to participate in the trip.

Volunteers are welcomed on trips, so please feel free to fill out a volunteer form if you are interested. There is no fee for volunteers to attend the field trips.

Swimming trips will be arranged. The fee will include
transportation and is required to be paid in cash in advance of the trips.
All lifeguards at the pools have received certification in CPR and First Aid
by completing American Red Cross Skill Training.

A variety of sports, arts, crafts, special events and other activities will be offered at the parks on the remaining weekdays. These activities will be based upon a weekly theme selected by the Recreation Supervisor.
